Dear CUSD 201 Families,
Congratulations to Westmont High School principal Jack Baldermann. Jack has been selected as a Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Leadership finalist. Mr. Baldermann is one of six finalists out of over 100 school leaders nominated in Illinois.
At the February 22 Special Board Meeting. The CUSD 201 Board approved an updated mitigation plan. Beginning the week of February 28, CUSD 201 will transition to masks “strongly recommended” in our schools. Masks will still be required on school buses.
In addition, the District will recommend that unvaccinated close contacts not attend school for five days, but students will not be required. Positive cases will still be excluded from school for five days.
The following mitigations CUSD 201 will still have in place:
- Minimum 3 feet social distancing in the classroom when possible
- 3 to 6 feet social distancing in the cafeteria
- Frequent hand washing encouraged
- Hand sanitizers available in all schools
- Optional weekly testing
- Desktops and classrooms sanitized daily
- Cafeteria tables sanitized after every lunch
- Encouraging students to get vaccinated
Our teachers and administrators have been working with our students to have a smooth transition on Monday.
Westmont Pharmacy is hosting a free vaccination clinic on Saturday, February 26 at the pharmacy from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Here is the link to schedule an appointment (Westmont Pharmacy Vaccination Clinic).
Information about our students’ vaccination status is valuable as we decide COVID-19 mitigations. If your child is fully vaccinated, please upload an image of the vaccination card in Skyward. Once you log into Skyward, there is a link you will use to upload the card. The information will be kept confidential.
CUSD 201 is asking parents to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The survey results provide valuable information to our school and are included in the school report card. We also use the data to guide some of our decision-making. The survey closes on March 11, 2022. Illinois 5Essentials Survey
