Dear CUSD 201 Families,
Media outlets are reporting on clinical labs that provide COVID-19 testing that are under investigation. Northshore is one of the labs named in the report. CUSD 201 has not had any issues with getting test results back in a timely manner. Northshore has been responsive to our questions and has worked with the District to implement our testing program. Northshore has provided its clients with a public statement regarding the investigation.
At the January 25 Board Meeting, the Board passed a resolution for the school district to use eLearning days instead of traditional emergency (snow) days. The eLearning days are not the same as remote learning days. In the event that the district has an eLearning day, teachers will provide activities and work that needs to be completed by 9:00 p.m. Each school will provide additional information regarding eLearning days. The District is waiting on final approval from the DuPage Regional Office of Education on the District plan. The earliest the District can have an eLearning day is the end of February. Before then, the District will use traditional emergency days in the event of a weather-related school closure.
CUSD 201 is asking parents to please complete the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The survey results provide valuable information to our schools, and the results are included in the school report card. We also use the data from the survey to guide some of our decision-making. The survey closes on March 11, 2022. Illinois 5Essentials Survey
CUSD 201 and Westmont Pharmacy are hosting a vaccination clinic on Saturday, January 29, 2022. The clinic will be at Westmont Junior High School from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Use this link to register for an appointment (CUSD 201 Vaccination Clinic). A parent or guardian must accompany minor children.
The positivity rate is decreasing in DuPage County, showing signs that the Omicron variant has peaked. As of January 28, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 14.49%, Hinsdale is 15.30%, Downers Grove is 14.39%, and Clarendon Hills is 19.50%. The average positivity rate for our community is 15.92%. The county is still exceeding 1268 new cases per 100,000 and has a positivity rate of 13.11%.
If your child is fully vaccinated, please upload an image of the vaccination card in Skyward. Once you log into Skyward, there is a link you will use to upload the card. The information will be kept confidential. Having a record of the vaccination card will aid school offices in determining if a close contact needs to be excluded from school. Students who are fully vaccinated do not need to be excluded from school.
Please read the entire communication for additional information.
