May 7, 2021
Dear CUSD 201 Families,
On May 5, the Westmont High School Fine Arts Department had an outdoor concert. The symphonic and jazz bands performed as well as the choir. It was great to see a live performance by our students in over a year.
The DCHD published the DCHD School Metrics Week 16 on Monday. As of May 5, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 2.57%, Hinsdale is 5.35%, Downers Grove is 4.42%, and Clarendon Hills is 4.44%. The average positivity rate for our community is 4.20%.
It is so important to continue to practice the COVID-19 mitigation strategies. It was necessary to have a class pivot to remote at Manning after a positive COVID-19 test, contact tracing, and other students reporting COVID-like symptoms. We are so close to the end of the school year. It will take all of our efforts to complete the year safely.
The District is starting to plan for the 2021-2022 school year. We are planning on starting the school year in person and a full-day schedule. The District is waiting on guidance from the State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Health about protocols or restrictions that may need to be in place As we finalize our plans we will share them with the school community.
Please read the entire communication for additional updates.
