March 26, 2021
Dear CUSD 201 Families,
The week of March 29 is Spring Break. I hope our students have a chance to relax and recharge for the final push of the school year. If families travel out of state or the country during spring break, the District recommends your children quarantine before returning to school for in-person learning. You can have your child get tested upon return and quarantine for seven days, or if students are not tested, quarantine for ten days.
CUSD 201 will be in the hybrid when we return to school on April 6, with the exception of the Junior High. The Junior High is an election polling place. Out of an abundance of caution, the Junior High students will be remote on April. 6.
In the weeks of April 5 and April 12, many of the CUSD 201 staff will be receiving their second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Some individuals may experience symptoms after receiving the second dose and, in some cases, may not be able to report to work. CUSD 201’s goal is to remain in hybrid learning. In the event a critical mass of teachers cannot report to work, a school may need to pivot to remote. Parents will be contacted if a school needs to be remote.
The DCHD published the DCHD School Metrics Week 10 on Monday. As of March 25, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 3.31%, Hinsdale is 8.30%, Downers Grove is 6.29%, and Clarendon Hills is 8.42%. The average positivity rate for our community is 6.59%. Our community has seen an increase in the seven-day positivity rate. Please continue to implement the IDPH mitigations to keep the spread of COVID-19 low.
Please read the entire communication for additional updates.
April 26
CUSD 201 will return to a full-day schedule for families who have opted for in-person learning. Students who attend in-person will be required to self-certify before arriving at school, wear masks, and social distance. The schools will provide additional information about the school day and transportation.
The District will still provide a remote learning experience for families who want their child to remain remote.
Hybrid Learning
The District has updated the Hybrid Learning Plan. Here is a link to the plan (CUSD 201 Hybrid Learning Plan). Also, each of the schools will be sending out additional information to school families. The District will update this document regularly. It is a good idea to revisit this document periodically, including the frequently asked questions.
Remote Learning
Please use this link to view the plan.
If you or your student is having difficulty accessing the learning materials or have any questions, we have a hotline for you to use. Please use the following number:

630-468-8030 for Spanish speakers.
MEAL DISTRIBUTION
Due to Spring Break, there is no meal distribution the week of March 29, 2021.
The meal distribution took place on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
If you were unable to come to pick up the meals on March 25, please call 630-468-8121.
Each day more and more people are receiving the vaccine. We are getting closer and closer to a day when we can socialize more and resume our normal lives. Now is not the time to let down our guard. Please continue to wear masks, practice social distancing, and wash your hands.
Take care,
Kevin Carey
Superintendent
