March 5, 2021
Dear CUSD 201 Families,
The week of March 8, we begin the fourth quarter of the school year. This school year has felt like a long year; and at the same time, it is going by fast. Starting Monday, the schools will begin utilizing Wednesdays to bring in students. Each school will continue to communicate to parents any changes that will occur during the fourth quarter.
Next week, the remaining CUSD 201 employees will receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately twenty-eight days after receiving the vaccine, employees will receive the second dose. The CDC and IDPH consider individuals immunized two weeks after receiving the second dose.
Spring break is quickly approaching. If your family is planning on traveling out of state, the District recommends students quarantine for 14 days before returning to school.
The DCHD published the DCHD School Metrics Week 7 on Monday. As of March 4, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 2.56%, Hinsdale is 4.98%, Downers Grove is 5.89%, and Clarendon Hills is 6.33%. The average positivity rate for our community is 4.94%. Our community’s low positivity rate and the safety protocols we have in place will allow CUSD 201 to remain hybrid for the Week of March 8.
Please read the entire communication for additional updates.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
CUSD 201 will hold parent-teacher conferences on March 11 and March 12. The teachers will conduct conferences virtually. Please schedule your conferences using Skyward or by contacting your child’s school.
Hybrid Learning
The District has updated the Hybrid Learning Plan. Here is a link to the plan (CUSD 201 Hybrid Learning Plan). Also, each of the schools will be sending out additional information to school families. The District will update this document regularly. It is a good idea to revisit this document periodically, including the frequently asked questions.
Remote Learning
Please use this link to view the plan.
If you or your student is having difficulty accessing the learning materials or have any questions, we have a hotline for you to use. Please use the following number:
630-468-8020 for English speakers

MEAL DISTRIBUTION FOR THE WEEK OF March 7, 2021
Meal pick-up is on Monday, March 8, 2021, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Westmont Junior High.
Meals are available free of charge to CUSD 201 families for children 18 and younger.
The District will provide parents with seven days worth of breakfast and lunch. Please use the driveway off Oakwood in front of the Junior High School. A CUSD 201 employee will bring the food to your car. If you are unable to come to the Junior High at the designated time, please call 630-468-8121.
It will be several months before a significant percentage of the population receives the vaccine. There is still the potential for the virus to spread. Please continue to wear masks, practice social distancing and wash your hands.
Take care,
Kevin Carey
Superintendent
