January 15, 2021

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

I hope you and your family are well. I communicated earlier this week that CUSD 201 would resume the Hybrid Model on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. The positivity rates in our community are trending in the right direction. As of January 14, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 5.67%, Hinsdale is 9.76%, Downers Grove is 7.91%, and Clarendon Hills is 9.76%. The average positivity rate for our community is 8.17%. Please continue to do your part to slow the spread of COVID-19.

As we resume in-person learning, here are a few reminders for you.  Please remember your child must not attend school if he or she has had a fever within the last 24 hours, has taken a fever-reducing medication within the previous 24 hours, or has presented with Covid like symptoms within the last 24 hours. COVID-19 symptoms include fever, chills, cough,  difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle/body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion/runny nose, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health have stipulated that for schools to have in-person learning, students and staff must wear masks. Our schools will require face masks and social distancing.

Please take the time to read the letter before January 19 (COVID-19 Parent Letter), which outlines the District protocols for in-person learning.

Your child’s school will be providing additional information.

Hybrid Learning
The District has updated the Hybrid Learning Plan. Here is a link to the plan (CUSD 201 Hybrid Learning Plan). Also, each of the schools will be sending out additional information to school families. The District will update this document regularly. It is a good idea to revisit this document periodically, including the frequently asked questions.

Please read the entire communication for additional updates.

Remote Learning
Please use this link to view the plan.

MEAL DISTRIBUTION FOR THE WEEK OF January 18, 2021

Meal pick-up is on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Westmont Junior High.

Meals are available free of charge to CUSD 201 families for children 18 and younger.

The District will provide seven days’ worth of breakfast and lunch to families.   Please use the drive off Oakwood in front of the Junior High School.  The CUSD 201 staff will bring it to your car.  If you are unable to come to the Junior High at the designated time, please call 630-468-8121.

Thank you for your patience as CUSD 201 navigates the pandemic. Please know our teachers and staff are working tirelessly to provide the best possible education under trying circumstances. Please continue to wear masks in public, social distance, and wash your hands.

Take care,

Kevin Carey
