January 8, 2021,
Dear CUSD 201 Families,
Happy New Year! A new year offers the opportunity for renewal.
The DuPage County Health Department posted the DCHD School Metrics Week 52. The metrics are improving. The immediate area’s seven-day positivity rate is Westmont - 10.52%, Hinsdale - 8.56%, Downers Grove - 10.961%, and Clarendon Hills - 17.27%. The seven-day positivity rate is slightly higher than last week.
The week of January 19, the District plans to transition to the Hybrid Model. On Monday, DCHD will release the updated school metrics, and the District will make a final decision. The District has updated our decision-making criteria (CUSD 201 Second Semester Criteria). I believe the updated metrics will provide more flexibility in our decision-making and allow the District to meet our goal to have as many students attend in-person consistently. Next week I will share a video explaining the changes in the decision-making criteria that will hopefully answer your questions.
As the District prepares to resume the Hybrid model, the CUSD 201 nurses have provided a letter to parents reminding families of the protocols when the District has in-person learning. Please take the time to read the letter before January 19 (COVID-19 Parent Letter).
Calendar for November 16 through January 19
