October 2, 2020
Dear CUSD 201 Families,
Beginning Monday, October 5, The District will transition to hybrid learning for those families who chose this option.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health for schools to have in-person learning requires students and staff to wear masks. In our schools, face masks and social distancing will be required.
As the District transitions to hybrid learning, I am asking everyone to have patience and grace. Our teachers, administrators, and all of our staff have been working endless hours preparing for Monday. Even with all our planning and preparation, I am sure there will be some hiccups the first days or week of hybrid learning. Be patient with our administrators and staff. If a part of our plan is not working, we will make the necessary adjustments. Be patient with your student and yourself. This version of school is new for everyone. If there is something that is not working or your child needs additional support, please reach out.
Please remember that this is a very fluid situation. The hope is that the District can continue in-person learning for the remainder of the year. At the same time, parents need to be prepared for the possibility the District needs to pivot back to 100% remote learning. Parents need to have a plan B ready. We will try to give as much notice as possible if the District needs to make a change.
Hybrid Learning
The District has updated the Hybrid Learning Plan. Here is a link to the plan (CUSD 201 Hybrid Learning Plan). Also, each of the schools will be sending out additional information to school families. This document will be updated regularly. It is a good idea to revisit this document periodically, including the frequently asked questions.
Please read the entire communication for additional updates.
Remote Learning
Remote learning will continue in the week of October 5. Please use this link to view the plan.
If you or your student is having difficulty accessing the learning materials or have any questions, we have a hotline for you to use. Please use the following number:
630-468-8020 for English speakers
630-468-8030 for Spanish speakers.
Meal Distribution for the Week of October 5
Please note that there is a new pick-up time slot.
Meal pick-up is on Monday, October 5, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Westmont Junior High.
Meals are available free of charge to CUSD 201 families for children 18 and under.
Parents will be given five days’ worth of breakfast and lunch. The meals are to provide the children with breakfast and lunch from Tuesday through Monday. Please use the drive off Oakwood in front of the Junior High School. You do not need to exit your car; the food will be brought to you. If you are unable to come to the Junior High at the designated time, please call 630-468-8121.
Thank you for your continued support of our school district. We are truly in this together, and that is our strength. Remember to wear a mask, social distance, and wash your hands. If you have not shared the video on proper handwashing and mask-wearing, please do. Handwashing and Wearing a Mask
Take care,
