Parent Update - September 4th

Parent Update - September 4th

September 4, 2020

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

As we start the holiday weekend, it is hard to believe that we are in September. Our teachers and administrators are working continuously to meet the needs of our students. Thank you for everything you are doing at home to support our school district.

I shared with you earlier this week that the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD)  released its Return to School Framework.  The framework will assist school districts in making decisions on when to have in-person learning. Weekly, the DCHD will be updating the school metrics and informing the community what level of transmission the county is experiencing. Here is the link to the current metrics. (DCHD School Metrics 9-4-20 ) Based on the current metrics, the county remains at the orange or moderate transmission level. The positive is the number of cases per 100,000 decreased from 96 to 75. On the negative side, the positivity rate increased from 4.4 to 5.1.

If one of the four metrics increases to the red or substantial transmission level, the District will not be able to transition to in-person learning. Continue to follow the basic guidelines, wash your hands frequently, wear a mask, social distance, and cover a sneeze or cough. It will take all of our collective efforts to keep the county’s numbers moving in the right direction.

Please read the entire communication for additional updates.

Remote Learning

Remote learning will continue in the week of September 7. Please use this link to view the plan.
