Growth Mindset
New research shows that the way teachers and parents talk about abilities and learning can have powerful effects on their students' beliefs. The CUSD 201 teachers and staff are embracing the Growth Mindset in their own professional learning. Here are a few of our favorite videos and resources to help us understand the Growth Mindset. These videos remind us all that we want our students to find learning fun and exciting. At the same time, we want to provide a learning environment that is safe - where failure is looked upon as a way to learn and challenges are opportunities to grow!
Mindset Resources for Parents and Families
Growth Mindset for Parents - Developed in collaboration with Raise the Bar, parents learn what a growth mindset is, why it is important, and what can be done to support their children in developing this learning belief.
With Math I Can - Take the pledge to stop saying, "I'm not good at math" and approach learning with a growth mindset. Under the Resources tab, there are several videos explaining to parents how they can help their children develop a growth mindset at home.
