E-Learning Days (Weather or Other Emergency)

Community Unit School District 201 may utilize up to five E-Learning days per year in the event of inclement weather or other emergency. The purpose of an Emergency E-Learning Day is to continue learning opportunities for students if school needs to close. The goal is to minimize disruption to the academic progress caused by emergency school closures and to make emergency days as educational, productive, and engaging as possible. In the event of an E-Learning day, the information will be shared via School Now, our mass communication tool, on the district website, social media, and media outlets. Families will also receive an automated phone call, email, and text message if they have opted in for that service. CUSD 201 makes every attempt to notify families as soon as possible.

There are many factors that impact a decision, including, but not limited to, the ability of our students and staff members to get to and from school safely, the current weather conditions, and forecasted weather.
