Alyssa Woody
8th Grade Special Education
My name is Alyssa Woody. I developed a love for special education through volunteering at Camp Courageous of Iowa when I was in high school. Because of those trips, I have found my passion, and I continue to take high schoolers to the camp every summer. I graduated from Indiana University in 2015 with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education. In April 2019, I completed my English as a Second Language Endorsement, and in March 2020, I completed my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I have a great interest in building self-advocacy skills with middle school-aged students, which is what I researched for my Masters's program. I am excited to learn from the students this year and grow as a teacher, and hopefully, they learn from me as much as I learn from them! Growing up in Clarendon Hills, I knew how great CUSD 201 really was. It's an honor to be a part of the 8th-grade team and work for Ms. Quattrone and Mr. Lipinski.
