General

Are you ready to get back at your teachers? September 4h-7th vote for either Dr. Weck, Mr. Doll, or others to be dunked during Friday’s lunch.  Whichever teacher raises the most money, gets dunked.  Not only do you get to tank the teachers, but you can sink the students at the football game from 6:30 to 8:00mp.m.  All contributions go to Westmont’s Jr. Sentinels “building a legacy of student-athletes in CUSD201.

Attention students who are driving to school.  If you have not done so yet you need to purchase a parking permit to park at school.  Please see Mrs. Grahn in the front office for a permit.

We are looking for a student artist to create publicity artwork for the fall play to be used on posters and t-shirts. Please see Mrs. Mahmoud if you are interested.

Clubs

Hey Sentinels: Geography Club and CAPAOW Club are running a joint field trip on Saturday, September 9th to visit Chicago's Chinatown neighborhood! All permission slips must be turned in by Thursday, September 7th.

Athletics – The boys football team evened their season record at 1-1 with a heart thumping come from behind victory versus Chicago Prosser. The entire backfield contingent of Lucas Fears, LucasHicks and Yannis Tutuianu  relentlessly pounded Prosser defense into yielding over 250 yards rushing. The offensive line was spectacular with all six providing big block after big block. The game was sealed with a big stop by the defense that bent but did not break all night. Congratulations to all of the young men for their hard work and never quit attitude.

If y you are you interested in being a team attendant for the Chicago Bulls?   This unique opportunity will be available again this year. You must have transportation to the United Center.  Sign up with Kappy.

There are only 133 days until Track and Field. If you are interested in joining track and field this spring, see Coach Dunne or Coach Philgren to get added to the Google Classroom.

On Saturday, the Sentinel Cross Country teams competed at the Plainfield Central Invitational against tough Class 2A and 3A competition - and every runner set huge PR's on a great day for the Sentinels! Special congratulations to Kyla Babb, who won the Frosh-Soph girls race!
