General - Over the weekend, the Westmont Scholastic Bowl team competed in the NAQT Small School National Championship Tournament in Rosemont, IL. The Sentinels, led by seniors Pranav Viswanath and Akshar Goyal, entered as the reigning champions and started off the weekend just how the team left off, going undefeated on Saturday for a record of 10-0. That's good for a 25 game winning streak at the national level.

Sunday started off with a win to stretch the streak to 26, but Westmont lost their second match of the day. The team rebounded with two more wins to put themselves into the championship bracket. The next match was incredibly close, with several lead changes, and even went into overtime, but the Sentinels ultimately lost 360-350 to the eventual 3rd place team. However, Westmont finished 5th in the entire country!!

Attention all WHS students:  AP Exams will begin on May 2 and run through May 12.  Exam schedules and times are posted on the AP Google Classroom and at the Student Entrance.  

Cuatro...   Kaht...   Four...   Yes, no matter what language you put it in Sentinels you have only FOUR more days to purchase your prom tickets. No tickets will be sold after 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 28th.  Tickets are $85 per person and can be purchased with cash or a check made payable to Westmont High School.    If your guest does NOT attend WHS you will also need to complete a guest form -which can take time as several signatures are required.  Forms are available in Mr. Baldermann´s office, or with Mrs. Zorbas or with Señorita Lott.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Zorbas or Señorita.  

Did you forget to order a 2022 yearbook? Good news, you still have time! Instructions about how to order a yearbook in Skyward were sent home to parents and guardians last week. You may order until May 18.  Please see Mrs. Mahmoud if you have any questions.

Seniors: It is time to start thinking about graduation! Please head to the Senior Google Classroom to take care of your baby pictures, senior plans, and quotes and memories by May 6!

·         Senior Breakfast - Tuesday, May 24 following graduation practice. Tickets are $27-CASH AND CHECK MADE OUT TO WESTMONT HIGH SCHOOL. TICKETS WILL BE SOLD FROM 4/5 - 5/6  PURCHASE TICKETS FROM MRS. MAHMOUD BY FRIDAY, MAY 6 AT 3 PM

·         Prom tickets are on sale today -don't delay!   Join us as the Junior Class hosts the Westmont High School Junior Senior Prom at The Carlisle on May 7th!  Tickets are $85.     If you would like to sit with your friend, all of your friends' tickets must be paid for.  Then, your group of 8, 9 or 10 students will be able to reserve a table. 

Athletics - Senior Athletes:  Save the Date! Our Athletic Signing Date will be May 11 at 2:00. If you are signing to play sports at the collegiate level, please fill out the form in the Class of 2022 Google Classroom before May 9.

Senior athletes, band members and scholastic bowl team:  The Senior Recognition Banquet will be May 15 at the Hinsdale Golf Club.  RSVPs are due by May 6 (no late RSVPs will be accepted).   See Kappy if you have any questions.

The boys track and field team finished 3rd in the Elmwood Park Tiger Classic Invitational on Friday. First place finishes for the Sentinels were Michael Doll in the 110 hurdles and triple jump, Jack Rathburn in pole vault and Kamron Singleton in the shot put.

The girls track and field team finished  3rd in the Elmwood Park Tiger Classic Invitational on Friday. First place finishes for the Sentinels were   Lizzy Szynal in the 1600 and 3200, Mikayla Hickey in pole vault, the 4 x 2 relay team of Jade Curtis, Natalia Angielczyk, Briseis Stanescu and Bella Esparza, and the 4 x 4 relay team of Jade Curtis, Annikah Engstrom, Cate McDaniels and Cinaiya Huddleston.
