General

Clubs

On Saturday, both levels of the Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Timothy Chritistian to compete in the conference tournament. 

At the JV level, the squad split into two teams and gave awesome effort, especially Team A that played exclusively varsity teams! After falling in two EXTREMELY close matches against Wheaton Academy and Timothy Christian, Team 1 triumphed over Ridgewood to place 3rd!  There were major contributions from everyone, but Luke Kaestner led the pack AND earned individual honors for placing top 6 in the conference! Thanks for an amazing season sophomores!

Varsity came in seeded 3rd, with an in conference record of 15-3. The Sentinels cruised in their matches against St. Ed's, winning 515-155 and Chicago Christian, 405-105. The Sentinels then had a tough match against Wheaton Academy, but were able to squeeze by, 340-300, which set up a repeat of last year's conference championship matchup, Westmont vs Timothy Christian. Junior Michael Smith started the Sentinels out right by powering the first  tossup, but the Sentinels found themselves losing by 70 with only two questions left, but team Captain Pranav Viswanath and tournament point leader Akshar Goyal both powered the last two questions and tied it up. In sudden death, Pranav powered the tossup in the route to the upset win, and repeat championship. The Sentinels have Regionals on Monday at Seneca

Athletics

Congratulations to the Girls Track and Field team who had amazing performances against Montini, Leyden and Addison Trail on Friday night.  Highlights of the evening were 2nd place 4 x 160 relay (Camille Kuru, Nora Schlacks, Cate McDaniels, Cinaiya Huddleston), Lizzy Szynal, 2nd in the 3200 and 1st place mile and Cinaiya Huddleston - 1st place 55 dash.  Way to go Sentinels. 

All girls interested in playing softball this spring please meet at 5 o’clock outside the gym on Monday, February 28. Please register on 8 to 18 and have a current physical turn in. Practice on Tuesday will be right after school at 3:15pm. 

All spring sports begin today, February 28.  Please make sure you are on a team roster by contacting the coach.  You must have a current physical on file and complete the 8 to 18 registration.
